Here are a few tips for getting the best possible home for your amazing kitty: 

• Your bio won't necessarily be going directly onto their online listings as-is; they will be reviewed by the adoption coordinator and tweaked as needed
• Doesn't mean you did anything "wrong" or that somebody didn't like what you wrote
• Most tweaks are to avoid having too many nearly-identical listings up at the same time
• You don't have to write the next great American novel for the bio - over 300 words is going to be too long and most people won't bother to read it
• Don't include "negatives" that are no longer A Thing for your kitty
• "She came to me completely feral, hated literally everything, bit the absolute heck out of EVERYONE...oh, but NOW she is a super-sweet girl who just purrs and cuddles 24/7" <= adopters stopped reading and hit "next" when they got to the word "feral"
• "He was soooooo sick, I'd never even SEEN so many fleas and it took almost a month to get rid of his tapeworms, plus he had THE WORST case of upper respiratory, but thank goodness he got over all that and is now super healthy and ready for his forever home!" <= yup, they hit "next" when they saw the word 'sick'
• We won't put their age-in-week-or-months on the listing - date of birth is OK, but saying s/he is "nine weeks old" is going be false advertising almost before the posting has gone live
• Bios are not carved in stone - if you forget something or they start exhibiting new behaviors as they get a little older, we can update their bio to reflect that
• Don't worry about grammar / spelling, we'll fix those things before the listing goes live 
• If creative writing isn't your thing, just putting in keywords is fine
• When it comes to their temperament, there is no "right" or "wrong"
• Different adopters are looking for different things, so don't feel like they HAVE TO be friendly and/or affectionate and/or good with kids or other animals to get adopted - there are always people looking for those "aloof" and "independent" types, too
• Knowing what they like and dislike helps the adoption coordinator screen applications to find just the right home for them
• We can put up to six photos, or five photos plus one short video, per listing
• If your video will not upload due to size restrictions, email it to Contact@AnimalRescueTracy.org 
• If possible, try to get pictures that show off their full coat
• A combination of action and "still" shots are awesome - action shots help adopters imagine the kitty in their own home, while the still ones tend to make the best hook as their main photo
